Salary : 5000 QAR
Key Responcibilities
1. Design and Development
- Create designs: Develop detailed designs and specifications for mechanical systems, machines, tools, and components. This often involves using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA.
- Prototype creation: Design prototypes of mechanical products to test functionality and performance.
- 3D modeling and simulations: Use advanced software to simulate the performance of mechanical components under various conditions (e.g., stress, temperature, etc.).
- Material selection: Choose appropriate materials for components, considering factors like strength, durability, weight, and cost.
2. Analysis and Testing
- Perform stress and thermal analysis: Analyze components to ensure they can withstand operating conditions like temperature fluctuations, pressure, and mechanical stresses.
- Run simulations: Use software to simulate how components or systems will behave under real-world conditions.
- Test prototypes and models: Conduct physical testing of prototypes and systems to validate design assumptions and make improvements.
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA): Use FEA tools to assess the strength and durability of materials and components under stress.
3. Project Management
- Coordinate projects: Lead and manage projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Collaborate with other teams: Work with electrical engineers, designers, and other technical teams to ensure that the final product integrates well with other systems or components.
- Risk management: Identify potential risks in mechanical design and ensure they are addressed through testing, modifications, or alternative approaches.
- Documentation: Document all aspects of the design and testing process, including calculations, technical drawings, reports, and specifications.
4. Manufacturing Support
- Design for manufacturability: Ensure that designs can be efficiently manufactured and are cost-effective by considering the production process during the design phase.
- Collaborate with manufacturers: Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure that designs are properly interpreted and that products are built to specification.
- Oversee production: Sometimes, mechanical engineers may oversee the production process to address any issues related to the design or materials.
5. Quality Assurance and Control
- Ensure compliance: Ensure that designs meet relevant industry standards, regulations, and codes.
- Implement quality control measures: Develop and implement tests and processes to verify the quality of the product or system.
- Troubleshoot problems: Identify and solve problems that arise in the design or production stages, and modify designs if necessary to improve performance.
6. Maintenance and Upgrades
- Maintenance of systems: Develop maintenance schedules and recommend actions to improve the reliability and longevity of mechanical systems and equipment.
- System optimization: Suggest design upgrades or improvements to existing systems based on performance data, feedback, or technological advances.
- Troubleshoot existing systems: Diagnose problems with existing mechanical systems and propose solutions to correct issues or optimize performance.
7. Innovation and Research
- Innovate new technologies: Conduct research into new technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes to improve product performance, efficiency, and sustainability.
- R&D: Engage in research and development activities to create cutting-edge products, machinery, and equipment.
- Stay updated: Keep up with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in mechanical engineering.
8. Customer and Stakeholder Communication
- Client meetings: Meet with clients to understand their needs and project requirements.
- Present designs: Present designs and solutions to stakeholders or clients, explaining the technical aspects and benefits of the proposed solutions.
- Provide technical support: Offer ongoing technical support during the development and implementation phases of projects.
9. Cost Estimation and Budgeting
- Cost analysis: Estimate the costs of materials, manufacturing, and labor for design and production.
- Budget management: Manage budgets for projects, ensuring that designs and development stay within financial constraints.
- Optimize costs: Identify opportunities to reduce costs without sacrificing quality or performance in design or manufacturing.
