This entire GAMCA/Wafid system applies to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain. If you're going to the UAE, your medical test happens differently — it's done after arrival, inside the UAE, not through this pre-departure system in India. This is genuinely useful to know before anyone tries to charge you for it: the GAMCA/Wafid system uses an automated allocation process. When you submit your application through the Wafid portal, a center is assigned to you based on your city and slot availability — you don't get to freely browse and pick your favorite clinic.

Red flag: Anyone offering to "guarantee" or "choose" a specific center for you, for a fee, is selling you something the system doesn't actually allow. Treat this the same way as any other fee-related scam pattern.

📝 How the booking process works

Get your offer/contract details readyYour employer or agency will provide the details needed for the Wafid application — destination country, job category, sponsor information.

Submit your application on the official Wafid portalThis generates your applicant ID and starts the process. Never pay a third party extra just to "submit the form" for you — this step doesn't require a special fee beyond the standard test cost.

You're assigned a center and appointment slotThe system allocates this automatically — this is your confirmed test location, not a suggestion.

Attend your testBring a valid passport and any documents your agency specified. The test typically covers general fitness, chest X-ray, and standard lab work.

Result is shared electronically with the relevant authoritiesFit-for-work results are transmitted directly through the system — you generally won't need to personally deliver a paper result to your employer.

📌 Note on naming: "GAMCA" is the older, still widely-used name — the system now runs through the Wafid portal (wafid.com), which is the official current site for booking and checking your result. Most people still search "GAMCA," but Wafid is the name you'll actually see on official documents now.

📋 What can result in an "Unfit" report

This is standard GCC public-health screening applied to every applicant — not a judgment specific to you. Knowing this in advance means no surprises, and gives you the option of a check-up before you book if something here concerns you.

🔄 If you receive an "Unfit" result

An Unfit result isn't necessarily final. Depending on the reason, you may be able to seek treatment and apply for a re-examination once the issue is addressed — this genuinely works for some conditions. Being honest about what doesn't change the outcome, though: some conditions, particularly Hepatitis B and C, are typically treated as permanent disqualifying criteria for GCC entry regardless of treatment, not something a retest can resolve. If you're declared unfit and unsure which category your situation falls into, ask the medical center directly what your options are — don't assume either way.
