What Do These Numbers Represent?
The figures on this page represent Emigration Clearances (ECs) issued by the Government of India to Indian emigrant workers travelling for employment to designated Emigration Check Required (ECR) countries.
These figures should not be interpreted as the total number of Indians hired in each country or the total number of Indians moving to the Gulf for employment. Not all Indian workers require Emigration Clearance. The EC requirement applies to eligible passport holders travelling for employment to designated ECR countries.
