Choose a country dashboard

Official overseas-employment data, explained in context

Every dashboard is built around its own government or official employment source. The detailed pages provide destination-level figures and source notes; this page is simply your starting point.

One principle across every page

Read the metric before reading the trend.

A number is only useful when its definition is clear. A registration, approval or clearance is not automatically the same thing as a hiring decision, a completed migration, or the total number of workers living in a destination.

For that reason, GulfPlacement keeps each source country separate. We preserve the source’s own terminology, reporting period and data limitations rather than forcing unlike datasets into a misleading ranking.

How to use this research hub

Three quick steps to use the data responsibly

01

Choose the source country

Select the country whose official reporting system is relevant to your research or recruitment context.

02

Read the detailed dashboard

Review destination-level figures, available years, coverage gaps and the official source cited for that country.

03

Keep comparisons in context

Use each country’s metric as defined. Avoid adding figures together or treating them as a single measure of Gulf employment.

What each source records

Five official systems, five distinct measures

This overview intentionally gives definitions—not country figures. The detailed country pages contain the underlying dataset and methodological notes.

India

Emigration Clearances issued to eligible emigrant workers travelling for employment.

Nepal

New Labour Approvals for overseas employment, reported by fiscal year.

Sri Lanka

Migrant workers registered for foreign employment in the supplied official coverage.

Pakistan

Workers registered for employment abroad through the official overseas-employment system.

Bangladesh

Labour migrants registered for overseas employment, with reporting-period distinctions retained.

Research standard

Source transparency comes first

Each country dashboard identifies its responsible public authority and dataset. Sources include the Ministry of External Affairs of India, Government of Nepal, Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment, Pakistan’s Bureau of Emigration & Overseas Employment, and Bangladesh’s Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training.

GulfPlacement presents official source-country datasets as research aids. Data availability, reporting periods and definitions differ by source country; the detailed dashboards explain those differences before showing country-level figures.
