Salary : 4000 Sar
Roles & Responsibilities :
1. Team Supervision and Leadership
- Supervise scaffolding crew: Lead a team of scaffolders, assigning tasks and ensuring work is carried out according to safety standards and project specifications.
- Train and mentor crew members: Provide training on proper scaffolding installation, safety protocols, and the correct use of scaffolding tools and equipment.
- Monitor crew performance: Ensure that the scaffolding team works efficiently, follows procedures, and maintains high-quality standards.
- Enforce discipline: Address any issues related to work performance, safety violations, or misconduct on-site.
2. Scaffolding Installation and Dismantling
- Plan and supervise scaffolding erection: Oversee the safe assembly of scaffolding structures, ensuring they are stable, secure, and meet the specifications for the project.
- Monitor scaffold dismantling: Supervise the safe dismantling of scaffolding at the end of a project or when no longer needed, ensuring that the process follows safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with design specifications: Follow detailed scaffolding plans and blueprints to ensure the structure is built as designed, adhering to load requirements and safety standards.
- Inspection of scaffolds: Conduct regular checks to ensure scaffolds are installed and maintained correctly and remain safe for use by workers.
3. Safety and Compliance
- Implement safety protocols: Ensure that all scaffolding work is done in compliance with local safety regulations and company policies (e.g., OSHA, ANSI standards).
- Conduct risk assessments: Evaluate the work site for potential hazards related to scaffolding and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- Monitor safety equipment: Ensure that scaffolding workers are using the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) like hard hats, fall arrest systems, harnesses, and safety shoes.
- Ensure safe access and egress: Make sure that scaffold structures provide safe access to workers, with ladders, platforms, and guardrails in place.
4. Coordination with Other Teams
- Collaborate with project managers: Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and other teams to align scaffolding activities with the overall construction schedule.
- Communicate with engineers: Coordinate with engineers to ensure that scaffolding structures meet the required design and load specifications.
- Coordinate with other trades: Ensure that scaffolding structures are properly integrated with other work on site, such as electrical, plumbing, or steel erection tasks.
5. Material and Equipment Management
- Oversee materials inventory: Ensure the scaffolding team has the necessary materials (scaffolding pipes, boards, fittings) available for the work, and that materials are stored properly.
- Inspect scaffolding equipment: Ensure that scaffolding materials and equipment are in good condition and fit for use before assembly.
- Order and track materials: When needed, order new scaffolding materials, and track equipment usage to avoid shortages or unnecessary waste.
6. Quality Control
- Ensure structural integrity: Check that scaffolding structures are stable and secure, meeting load requirements and preventing potential safety risks.
- Inspect and approve completed work: Regularly inspect scaffolding structures to ensure compliance with safety regulations, design specifications, and quality standards.
- Address deficiencies: Take corrective action if any scaffolding or construction issues arise, such as inadequate support or instability.
7. Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain records: Keep accurate records of scaffolding inspections, safety meetings, equipment usage, and any incidents on-site.
- Incident reporting: Report any accidents, near-misses, or safety hazards immediately, and document all occurrences to comply with safety regulations.
- Provide progress reports: Regularly update project managers on scaffolding progress, material needs, and any issues that may delay work.
8. Risk Management
- Evaluate potential hazards: Conduct daily safety briefings and hazard assessments to ensure that potential risks associated with scaffolding work are mitigated.
- Ensure fall protection: Ensure that all scaffolding is equipped with the required fall protection systems such as guardrails, safety nets, or personal fall arrest systems (PFAS).
- Monitor work conditions: Keep an eye on environmental conditions, such as weather, that could affect the safety and stability of scaffolding (e.g., high winds, rain).
9. Coordination of Inspections
- Inspection by regulatory authorities: Ensure that scaffolding is inspected by the appropriate regulatory bodies or safety inspectors, and comply with their recommendations or required changes.
- Internal inspections: Conduct regular site inspections to ensure that scaffolding remains safe and stable throughout the life of the project.
10. Project Support
- Assist with scheduling: Help create and manage the schedule for scaffolding work, ensuring that it aligns with the project timeline and the availability of other resources.
- Manage site-specific challenges: Handle challenges that may arise due to site-specific conditions, such as limited space, uneven ground, or access issues, to ensure scaffolding is safely installed.
